Christmas was delicious. A last minute change from Italy to France because the hotel in Claviere wasn't quite built, over the border into Villeneuve which is in the Serre Chevalier resort. I took a few photos but they were very boring. The hotel had an amazing restaurant which was unusual as it offered lots of exciting fish dishes - I managed to dine on turbot,
shark and hake along with the obligatory fondue evening.
I was a bit anxious before, but as soon as I got my skis on I realised that I hadn't forgotten how to slither down a slope. For the first time, I was best in the class - but that might be because there were a lot of people who had only been skiing once or twice before, and I've been almost every year since I discovered the sport at the grand old age of 36. My problem was lack of fitness as my idea of getting ready for skiing is to buy some new outfits.
The photos are not too exciting
